Are you getting enough green food into your daily meals?

Even if you are close to finishing your cleanse, make it a focus to fill up on greens on a daily basis.

Green foods are typically high in chlorophyll, an antioxidant molecule naturally occurring in plant foods, which helps bind harmful compounds in cooked foods.

Examples of high-chlorophyll foods include spirulina, chlorella, alfalfa, and a variety of leafy greens, sprouts, and microgreens (these tend to be especially high in several vitamins and phytonutrients). Caution needs to be taken if you are on blood thinning medication.

Here are some of my favourite greens that are great to include as often as possible. They are particularly beneficial for digestion, liver function, and overall detoxification:

🌿 Artichoke – Supports digestion and stimulates toxin elimination.
πŸ₯¦ Asparagus – A natural diuretic, rich in fibre, and aids kidney function.
🌱 Radish – Encourages digestive enzyme activity and supports gut health.
πŸ₯¬ Leafy greens (kale, cabbage, broccoli etc.) – High in fibre, bind to toxins, and support elimination.
πŸ§… Leek & spring onions – Help reduce excess fluid and cleanse the bowel.
πŸ§„ Garlic – A natural antibiotic that supports liver detoxification.
✨ Turmeric – Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich, supporting the liver.
πŸ‹ Lemon (juice & zest) – Stimulates kidney function and protects cells during detox.
🍡 Green tea – High in antioxidants and helps regulate blood sugar.
🌿 Nettle leaf (spring) – Supports kidney function and bile production.
πŸ₯— Watercress – Rich in chlorophyll, aids digestion, and promotes liver health.
🌿 Fresh parsley & coriander – Help remove heavy metals and provide key nutrients.
🌼 Dandelion (spring) – Supports digestion, liver function, and kidney health.

Basil promotes the production of saliva which digests the food efficiently. Try basil induced tea or water the next time you’re feeling bloated as basil reduces water retention within the body.

Lemongrass helps flush out the toxic wastes from the body along with uric acid. Most commonly used in tea for fits flavor and fragrance, is also beneficial for the health.

Mint
Mint helps reduce the growth of bacteria and fungus and is effective in the treatment of irritable bowel. Add some mint leaves to your drinking water, you can also leave it in the refrigerator overnight and start your day with this.
