Has anyone put in liquid days into their Cleanse or do you have liquid days planned?
As you know the liquid days are optional for you. However by way of explanation, this is why I include liquid days in the programme.
A 3-day liquid “gut reset” aims to improve digestive health by increasing the amount of beneficial bacteria in a person’s large intestine. It includes: smoothies, soups, juices and all drinks.
Gut cleansing, often referred to as detoxifying or cleansing the digestive system, is indeed important for maintaining overall health.
Simply put both digestion and detoxification are very hungry organs. However, if you remove the strain from the digestive process, there is more efficient detoxification. I don´t validify just juices, since fibre helps push unwanted debris through the colon. Bacteria and other microorganisms in the large intestine break down the food which helps the body absorb nutrients and eliminate waste. We want those to be thriving to support our health, especially hormone and immune health.
Also the process of digestion involves the interaction of our gut enzymes and the millions of intestinal bacteria present in our gut. These microorganisms can influence whether a particular food is suitable for us or if it can cause problems.
I suggest 3 days of liquids, but if one day is your limit, start with that. It´s still a big help.
Benefits of the 3 liquid days:

If this is new to you, I suggest the following strategy:
- Eat a complete meal on the lunchtime of the day you wish to start.
- Have a soup (or two different ones) for your evening meal. Maybe a herbal tea and go to bed.
- Prepare a smoothie on waking or when you are hungry.
- Have a soup for lunchtime.
- Drink herbal teas in between. Juices also if required.
- Thats 1 day completed.
