Matcha tea is the base of the DETOX Kombucha I created with Riviera Kombucha, along with lemon zest and fresh ginger.  Matcha tea may be protective against gastrointestinal absorption of toxins such as PCBs and dioxins and helps to excrete chlorinated compounds (maybe lurking in  water/swimming pool):
Matcha is rich in chlorophyll which can bind to heavy metals like lead, mercury and cadmium helping escort them out the body.

Buy ORGANIC matcha, Check for fillers and added sugars (should not be in the powder)

Making the perfect matcha brew

using a bamboo whisk and tea bowl

  1. Sift 1-2 tsp matcha into a cup using a small sifter.
  2. Add 2oz hot water. For best results use water just under a boil.
  3. Whisk vigorously in a zig zag motion until the tea is frothy.
  4. Enjoy your matcha tea straight from the bowl.

For a latte froth up some almond or coconut milk, depending upon how sweet you like your tea.

Do not use the maple syrup as mentioned in this recipe 😉
