Here is a reminder of those key cleansing nutrients, supporting herbs, hydration and the biggest changes you can make for yourself to reduce your toxic burden.
For the last day of March I am doing my final post on hydration and the kidneys.
We need mineral electrolytes from water such as calcium, sodium, potassium, and magnesium, to help balance the amount of water in your body. These minerals also regulate your body’s pH level and facilitate nutrient absorption into your cells.
Electrolytes have an electric charge when they are dissolved in water or body fluids, including blood. The electric charge can be positive or negative. You have electrolytes in your blood, urine (pee), tissues, and other body fluids.
Here is an overview of the main electrolytes and their function.
- Bicarbonate, helps maintain the body’s acid and base balance (pH). It also plays an important role in moving carbon dioxide through the bloodstream.
- Calcium, which helps make and keep bones and teeth strong.
- Chloride, which also helps control the amount of fluid in the body. In addition, it helps maintain healthy blood volume and blood pressure.
- Magnesium, helps your muscles, nerves, and heart work properly. It also helps control blood pressure and blood glucose (blood sugar).
- Phosphate, works together with calcium to build strong bones and teeth.
- Potassium, helps your cells, heart, and muscles work properly.
- Sodium, helps control the amount of fluid in the body. It also helps your nerves and muscles work properly.
You get these electrolytes from the foods you eat and the fluids you drink.
As you now know, the kidneys play a pivotal role in the detoxification process, acting as the body’s natural filtration system. They are responsible for filtering the blood, maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance, and eliminating waste through urine. This process is vital for preventing the accumulation of toxins and ensuring overall health.
Electrolytes, such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium, are essential for the optimal functioning of the kidneys. They help regulate the body’s water balance and are crucial for proper cellular function and the efficient elimination of waste. The health of the kidneys can be indicated by various factors, including their ability to excrete waste and maintain fluid balance.
By supporting kidney health and ensuring adequate hydration, the body’s natural detoxification pathways are enhanced.
Cellular Hydration and Metabolic Enhancement
To achieve optimal cellular hydration, a comprehensive approach is necessary, integrating diet, lifestyle, and even skincare. A diet abundant in fruits and vegetables, which are naturally high in water content, vitamins, and minerals, plays a pivotal role in maintaining cellular hydration. Moreover, regular water intake throughout the day is indispensable.
Cellular hydration is the cornerstone of ensuring that our cells maintain the right balance of water, which is crucial for a myriad of biological functions. These include nutrient absorption, detoxification, and cellular communication. When cells are well-hydrated, they repair more effectively, slow down aging signs, and enhance overall wellbeing.
Cellular hydration is not just about drinking water; it’s about ensuring that every cell in our body is primed for optimal performance and detoxification. Furthermore, proper hydration aids the kidneys in detoxifying the body, boosts metabolic processes, and promotes the efficient elimination of waste. This is essential not only for maintaining vitality but also for preventing the accumulation of toxins that can accelerate ageing.
The alkalinity of liquids and water gets determined by the pH level. It stands for the potential of hydrogen level. The higher the pH level, the higher the alkalinity is.
The normal drinking water holds a seven pH level. Alkaline water holds a higher pH level, often 8-9. The source of the alkaline water is different. It could come from springs or wells which hold a large number of dissolved minerals.
You could also produce alkaline water using lemon and bicarbonate.
Now just make sure the water you drink isn´t from plastic bottles or stored in one 😉
