Choose a Toxin Free Washing Detergent.
We all need to keep our clothes clean and choosing a toxin-free washing detergent is not only better for your health but also for the environment.
Conventional laundry detergents are full of harmful chemicals like anionic and non-ionic surfactants, ethanol, and propylene glycol. These can irritate your skin, cause respiratory issues, and other health problems. Children are especially at risk. In fact, a study has shown that 60% of liquid laundry detergent capsule exposures happen to kids, often leading to various health symptoms.
Healthier for You and Your Family
Traditional laundry detergents often contain chemicals like phosphates, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances. Non toxic products are formulated without these harmful chemicals, making them a safer choice for your family. Fragrance free is particularly important if you have skin issues such as eczema, allergies or sensitive skin, as it eliminates the risk of skin irritation from synthetic perfumes.
Eco-Friendly and Sustainable
Many toxin free detergents are made with plant-based, biodegradable ingredients that are safe for the environment. Unlike conventional detergents that can pollute water systems and harm aquatic life, non-toxic alternatives are designed to break down naturally, minimising their environmental impact.
Babies and pets are especially vulnerable to the chemicals found in conventional detergents, as their skin is more sensitive and prone to irritation.
When using a toxin free detergent, get the most out of the product by doing the following:
- Use the recommended amount: Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for how much detergent to use per load. Many non-toxic detergents are concentrated, so a small amount goes a long way.
- Pre-treat stains naturally: For tough stains, you can pre-treat clothes with natural stain removers like baking soda or vinegar before washing them with your non-toxic detergent.
- Wash in cold water: Most non-toxic detergents work well in cold water, which helps save energy and prolongs the life of your clothes.
