Ingredients:

  • 70g/2½oz kale or spinach leaves, chopped
  • 350ml/12fl oz/1½ cups almond milk or kefir
  • 30g/1oz/ or 1/4 cup protein powder
  • 1 tsp spirulina powder, chlorella powder or matcha (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 ripe pear, chopped (also works well with ½ frozen banana)
  • ½ small avocado, pitted, skinned and chopped
  • a small handful of ice cubes
  • Topping – berries, coconut flakes, chia seeds etc

Method:

  • Put all the ingredients in a high-speed blender or food processor.
  • Allow the mixture to stand for 5 minutes then blend until creamy and smooth.  
  • Add toppings and serve.
